To implement a highly efficient and high quality subject protection and ethics review system in clinical research, the “China Forums of Clinical Research Capacity Building and Human Research Participants Protection” – CCHRPP was inaugurated on November 4, 2017 in Guangzhou. CCHRPP partnered with AAHRPP accredited institutions and FERCAP-SIDCER accredited IRBs in China to invite sponsors, CROs and SMOs become members, and jointly facilitate clinical research training, enhancing clinical research efficiency and capability and promoting knowledge exchange and accreditation activities etc. HKU-CTC is honoured to be invited by the organizing committee as one of the core members of CCHRRP.
Featuring an inspiring keynote lecture on 'The Past, Current and Future of Advancement of Clinical Research Capability and Subject Protection in China' by Professor Zhongyuan Xu, one of the key advocates of CCHRPP, representatives of HKU-CTC followed and made their duet presentation on ‘Overview of Ethics Review in Clinical Research in Hong Kong’. The presentation received positive feedbacks from nearly 300 participants from various provinces and cities, including investigators and study site personnel from academic institutions and hospitals as well as senior management people from sponsors and CROs in the Chinese Mainland.
